We’re happy to share a guide to our most common jewellery repair and restoration prices in Cardiff. Because every piece varies in condition, design and materials, all jewellery repairs are quoted after assessment - either in person at our workshop or from clear photographs sent via email.
Please note: These prices are a guide only. Some repairs may cost more if the piece is heavily worn, fragile, antique, hollow, or requires specialist stone setting or additional metal work. We will always confirm a no-obligation quote before any work begins.

Resizing a ring up requires additional metal, so prices vary depending on ring width.

Repairs
If your gemstone is loose or claws are worn, claw re-tipping is an essential jewellery repair to secure the stone properly and prevent loss.
(Prices vary depending on the number of claws and the setting type.)

*Stone removal may be required when working with delicate or heat-sensitive gemstones. Diamonds, rubies and sapphires can usually take heat, but we always assess the safest approach first.
If a ring band is thinning or worn through, a new ring shank repair rebuilds strength and restores the ring for long-term wear.

Please note: Chain repair pricing can vary depending on the construction and condition of the piece. Very thick chains, hollow links, or particularly fine and delicate chains may require additional time and specialist handling — and will be quoted accordingly after assessment.

Stone Replacement & Re-Setting
Stone replacement and gemstone sourcing is POA (Price on Application) because it depends on the stone type, size, cut, quality and availability — as well as any setting work required.

These prices reflect standard plating thickness (1 micron).
If you’re looking for a thicker, longer-lasting plating finish (3–5 microns, including vermeil plating), we will need to send your jewellery to a specialist plating supplier. Because supplier costs vary depending on the metal, size and preparation required, thicker plating is quoted individually after assessment.

Typical Jewellery Repair Times
Every repair is different - and we’ll always confirm a timeframe at the point of quote - but as a guide:
Simple repairs: usually 3–7 days
Ring re-sizing and stone work: usually 1–2 weeks
Restoration or complex repairs: usually 2–4 weeks
Express Repair Service
If you need your jewellery repaired urgently, we may be able to offer a next-day express jewellery repair, depending on the type of work required and workshop availability.
Express repairs are charged at 2x the standard repair price.
