Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Engagement Ring with Baguette Step Setting

This bespoke Art Deco engagement ring was designed and handcrafted in our Cardiff workshop for Alun. From the outset, they were certain of one detail — an emerald as the central stone, set within a contemporary yet distinctly Art Deco–inspired design.

At the heart of the ring sits an elongated baguette-cut emerald, chosen for its clean linear form and rich green depth. On either side of the emerald are two baguette diamonds, tapering in size as they move towards the shoulders, leading into three channel-set diamonds along each side. This stepped composition creates a strong architectural rhythm, echoing the symmetry and precision associated with 1920s Art Deco design.

The emerald and diamonds are set within a refined demi-flush setting, allowing the stones to sit low within the structure of the ring while maintaining crisp geometric definition. The result is a ring that feels bold and modern, yet unmistakably Art Deco in its influence.

From Sketch to CAD: Designing a Bespoke Emerald Engagement Ring in Cardiff

Every bespoke engagement ring we create begins with consultation sketches followed by detailed CAD modelling. For Alun’s ring, this stage was essential in refining the stepped baguette composition and ensuring the elongated emerald sat perfectly balanced within the demi-flush setting.

Through CAD, we developed:

  • The precise taper of the baguette side diamonds
  • The alignment of the channel-set shoulder diamonds
  • The depth and structure of the step setting
  • The overall symmetry of the Art Deco silhouette

This digital refinement ensures architectural accuracy before the ring is handcrafted in our Cardiff workshop.
