Fossil Ring
Our fossil ring is inspired by ancient plant fossils found in the coal seams of Wrexham’s Brymbo Forest. Its fluid openwork shape follows the organic lines of these natural forms, creating a sculptural ring with a clear connection to Welsh history, landscape and craft.
Designed as an open-ended wrap ring, the fossil form curves around the finger with a smooth polished band. The adjustable ring style allows for a more flexible fit, while the sculptural shape gives the piece presence without feeling heavy or overly ornate.
Available as a sterling silver ring or in an 18ct gold-plated finish, this modern ring is polished to highlight the curved fossil-inspired form. Its organic design makes it a distinctive choice for those looking for a minimalist ring with structure, movement and meaning.
The openwork fossil motif gives this ring its sense of flow and balance, with curved lines that reflect the natural repetition found in fossilised plant forms. The wrap ring design allows the shape to sit beautifully across the finger, creating a piece that feels contemporary while remaining rooted in Wrexham’s natural and industrial history.
As a sculptural silver ring or gold-plated ring, this piece works well worn alone as a statement or stacked with simpler bands for a more layered look. It brings together organic design, skilled craftsmanship and modern Welsh jewellery in a form that feels distinctive, wearable and considered.
A meaningful jewellery gift for anyone with a connection to Wales, Wrexham or the Eisteddfod, this fossil ring offers a wearable link to natural history and contemporary jewellery design. Each ring is handcrafted in Neil Rayment Goldsmiths’ Cardiff Bay workshop and presented in terracotta eco-friendly branded packaging, ready for gifting or keeping as a piece of Welsh heritage jewellery.
