Art Deco Engagement Ring Designed in Cardiff
This bespoke Art Deco engagement ring was designed and handcrafted in our Cardiff workshop for Bryn. From the beginning, the focus was clear — a princess-cut sapphire at the centre, framed by clean, geometric lines that would emphasise symmetry and structure.
At the heart of the ring sits a vibrant princess-cut sapphire, selected for its sharp corners, strong facet definition, and depth of colour. Its crisp square form provides a natural foundation for an Art Deco–inspired design.
Surrounding the sapphire, we created a halo of princess-cut diamonds, reinforcing the angular geometry and enhancing the architectural precision of the piece. Along the shoulders, additional princess-cut diamonds continue the linear rhythm, creating a seamless flow from centre stone to band.
The repetition of square facets throughout the ring establishes balance and cohesion, while allowing light to reflect from multiple planes.
The result is a sapphire and diamond engagement ring that feels bold, contemporary, and confidently geometric — a modern interpretation of Art Deco symmetry.

From Sketch to CAD: Designing a Bespoke Engagement Ring in Cardiff
Every bespoke engagement ring we design begins with consultation sketches followed by precision CAD modelling. For Bryn’s ring, this stage was essential in aligning the princess-cut sapphire with the surrounding halo and shoulder diamonds to ensure perfect symmetry.
Through CAD, we refined:
- The proportions of the central princess-cut sapphire
- The spacing and alignment of the diamond halo
- The transition of princess-cut diamonds along the shoulders
- The structural balance of the setting
This careful development ensures architectural accuracy before the ring is handcrafted in our Cardiff workshop.
